
Recognizing and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse

This presentation will give individuals an overview on how to recognize, respond to, and support children/youth who may be experiencing sexual violence. Whether you are a parent, teacher, and/or in a supportive role of children and youth this program will give you the tools on how to deal with such a prevalent and sensitive issue. This workshop will cover; Myths, Reality, and Statistics Definitions, Consent, Sexual Grooming, Internet safety, Sextortion, and Online Pornography, Telling; Why it’s hard and Why it’s important a child tells, Impacts of Trauma & Trauma Responses, Understanding offenders, What is normal and curious sexual behavior for children, Indicators of abuse, and finish off with How to Take Disclosures.
This workshop takes place online.
