Leading Change: Gender Based Violence & the Active Bystander Approach

February 2, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Leading Change will allow you to explore the impact of society, culture, and the media, in fostering unhealthy beliefs and attitudes surrounding gender roles, and the stereotypes that perpetuate gender-based violence. Using the Active Bystander Approach, you will learn skills to identify gender-based violence and be given intervention tools to apply when witnessing gender-based violence and abuse in your own circles of influence. The material for this workshop is drawn from the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters program, “Leading Change: Inspired Communities”. (7hrs)

Facilitated by: Buffy MacIntosh Leading Change Coordinator at Pace, JennyLee Viola Public Educator at Pace
